Via Systems now offers a Free Motion Head form (FMH) Impact System.
The FMH Impact System is designed to perform FMVSS 201 interior impact
compliance testing. Mounted to a multi-axis base, the impactor is easily positioned
and manipulated. All coordinates are referenced to the interior by our 3-position
laser system. Once the system is positioned, our high-precision PC based control
and measurement software indicates and records all critical linear and angular
measurements.

Free Motion Headform Impactor

The system is supplied with data acquisition or can be seamlessly integrated with your existing data measurement hardware. Software is included to perform all post test data analysis. The Impactor is a pneumatic / hydraulic device which delivers the head form with precise repeatable accuracy. The multi-axis base unit is available in a manual or motorized configuration. The entire system is designed with ease of use in mind while paying close attention to the important issues such as accuracy, repeatability (0.15%!), and safe operation. This system can be tailored to meet your exact specifications. The unit remains one of the more competitively priced impactors on the market.
